Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Designer to support large-scale power generation projects across the United States. This role will serve as the technical lead for electrical design projects supporting mainly gas and heavy industrial power plants. Projects may involve new power generation facilities, plant modernization efforts, performance improvement initiatives, capacity upgrades, and life-extension programs for existing generation assets. The role requires close collaboration with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Additional details/responsibilities: Turning engineering designs into detailed construction documents and 3D models Design various electrical projects including creating electrical schematics, grid plan layouts, electrical power systems, lighting systems, protection and controls, and site and facility design Execute changes to designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects. Build project schedules and coordinate with internal PM and engineering teams on design related issues Responsible for mentorship of junior designers (they will not have any direct reports, but will oversee designers on different projects) "Working lead" type of role, they will still spend roughly 75% of their time doing true electrical design work in SmartPlant or Navisworks Other 25% of time is cross functional communication with internal teams Support the electrical design for GHI (gas & heavy industrial) portion of their power delivery team. Other portions of the teams work are BESS, Solar and Decarbonization

Skills and Requirements

7+ years of experience in Electrical Design + bachelors degree 8 years of design experience with associates 9 years of experience with no degree 5 years minimum coming within power generation, gas, heavy industrial SmartPlant 3D and Navisworks Software experience
