Schedule: Full time Shift: Day (United States of America) Address: 501 REDMOND RD NW City: ROME State: Georgia Postal Code: 30165 Job Description:

  • Manages staffing, performance evaluation, and training activities, and assists with capacity planning for staff and contract labor.
  • Oversees the requisitioned, corrective, emergency, and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and offsite facilities associated with the facility.
  • Reviews maintenance requests and schedules work tasks for engineering techs, ensuring proper execution within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Orders selected stock items such as plumbing supplies, wood, electrical, and equipment parts to maintain maximum efficiency levels at all times.
  • Oversees the maintenance of electrical distribution, mechanical, HVAC, power generation, plumbing, and medical gas systems and building structures.
  • Assists in the training of personnel in the operation and repair of equipment.
  • Directs workers engaged in ground maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Performs management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, termination, departmental staffing, scheduling, payroll, and productivity reports.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates the ability to read blueprints and any other type of technical drawings or literature.
  • Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of how to access Federal, State, and local standards and requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies: standards of operation for plant operations; work standards for skilled personnel; and material and equipment suppliers
  • Healthcare Codes
  • Ability to comprehend at the 12th grade level
  • Computer Skills: Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Facility Management applications such as SMMS software for tracking building maintenance activities
  • Knowledge of AHCA regulations, The Joint Commission, NFPA standards, and other applicable codes of the healthcare industry
  • Extensive working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems with the ability to read, understand, and implement Life Safety Code standards of building construction
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and mathematical skills including the ability to understand and interpret statistical data
  • Demonstrated ability and skills in crisis management and emergency management as it relates to Plant Operations
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in healthcare accreditation/regulatory surveys, and policy/procedure management related to Facilities Management (EM), Life Safety (LS) & Environment of Care (EOC) etc. as assigned
  • Ability to communicate effectively via oral and written, in both large and small group settings at different levels of the organization, and with diverse groups, communities, and in public settings
  • Ability to effectively work in emotionally charged situations and a demanding, stressful, and fast-paced changing environment
  • Strong diplomacy, tact, facilitation, persuasion, and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills combined with business acumen and organizational and interpersonal leadership skills to lead, engage, and develop a diverse workforce
  • Demonstrated fluency to speak, read, and write in English
  • Good communication skills and leadership ability
  • Knowledge of blueprints and ability to price/negotiate and manage construction projects
  • Ability to use various instruments, machines, tools, equipment, and work aids as necessary to perform job duties
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Wiring knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Works with and has access to patient data, personnel concerns, other confidential and sensitive information related to medical staff, incident reports, and other areas of concern

Education:

  • Bachelor's or 6+years of relevant experience [Preferred]

Work Experience:

  • 3+ hospital or healthcare experience in facilities/biomed [Required]
  • 3+ leadership experience [Required]

Additional Information:

  • An equivalent combination of education ad relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:
  • Bachelors degree and 3+ years of hospital or healthcare experience in facilities/biomed. OR
  • Associates degree and 5+ years of hospital or healthcare experience in facilities/biomed. OR
  • High School Grad or Equivalent and 7+ years of hospital or healthcare experience in facilities/biomed.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) [Preferred]
  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) [Preferred]
  • Driver's License (DL) [Preferred]

Pay Range:
