Job Description

The Data Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining Snowflake ingestion pipelines, closing data gaps between sandbox and production environments, and supporting AI agent development within Snowflake’s Cortex/Coco ecosystem. This is a 6-month contract with potential extensions. This can sit remotely. Key Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, and maintain Snowpipes for automated ingestion from S3 and other sources
  • Ensure accurate movement of data through EDW layers (raw → conform → production)
  • Reconcile discrepancies between sandbox and production datasets
  • Partner with analytics teams to enforce proper EDW governance and deployment processes
  • Support integration work for new data sources, transformations, and stored procedures
  • Assist in building and training AI agents within Snowflake/Cortex
  • Improve reliability, consistency, and quality of data pipelines across the organization

Skills and Requirements

  • 4–8+ years as a Data Engineer
  • Deep experience with Snowflake, Snowpipes, and cloud-based ingestion patterns
  • Strong SQL and stored procedure experience
  • Experience with AWS Lambda
  • Familiarity with DBT (nice-to-have but common)
  • Understanding of AI agent concepts and LLM-driven workflows
  • Ability to collaborate with analytics teams and enforce proper data governance
  • Healthcare data experience (EMR, HIE, claims, clinical data)
  • Experience with Snowflake Cortex/Coco agent development
  • Experience with 5Tran or similar ingestion tools (legacy familiarity)
