The incumbent is tasked with ensuring proper and efficient maintenance and repair of all tunnel and pump station electrical equipment and machinery. Maintenance of these structures and facilities includes preventative maintenance, which includes making continual inspections of the structure’s operational equipment, and recommending repair work and equipment replacements to the Unit supervisor. The incumbent performs technical and highly skilled electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations of electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code. Performs required maintenance and repairs for the Districts underpass storm water pumping stations and tunnel-pumping stations to ensure the proper operation of the facilities. Performs routine maintenance, trouble shoots all electrical equipment and components related to the underpasses and tunnels.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:

Ensures proper and efficient maintenance and repair of all District 02 tunnel and pump station equipment including electrical and mechanical equipment. Performs routine tasks to pump station structures that includes continual inspections of equipment.

Service and repair electrical facilities and grounds in District 02 including generators, transformers, lighting, and electrical systems.

Install conduit and wires of all sizes and voltage ratings in connection with electrical equipment in the Harvey Tunnel, 3 Pump Stations, and the Empire Lock Structure within District 02/Bridge City.

Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair other electrical equipment in the District as needed.

Compensation: Trades Apprentice $16.06
Electrician $19.67 Electrician Specialist $21.05
As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Trade Apprentice, Electrician, or Electrician Specialist depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). The maximum salary for the Electrician Specialist is $3,649.00.
