Full job description

Tri-City Group is currently seeking a Project Engineer for an immediate opening in Cedar Rapids, IA. The Project Engineer will be responsible for providing overall Administration and Technical support for the construction site project.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in research and documentation of the procurement of all major equipment packages

  • Assist in the management (scheduling and receiving direction) of all owner-furnished equipment

  • Administratively support the tracking and logging of all information required within the Procurement, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Commissioning activities under the direction of the Project Manager

  • Attend meetings – Jobsite construction and coordination meetings

  • Assist in gathering documentation for field testing and owner acceptance

  • Assist in tracking and scheduling final punch list items

  • Work with PMA’s on submitting proper documentation for projects

  • Assist in the shop drawing review process

  • Assist in scheduling and documenting Owner training

  • Assist in close out documents

  • Assist in tracking the project construction schedule utilizing Primavera P6 software

  • Support the Project Manager in all areas including, procurement, purchasing, subcontract and lease agreements, and equipment tracking

  • Assist in the logistics of all major package delivery and storage

  • Help with the tracking of progress and adherence of scope of all sub-contractors to be utilized

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Maintenance of a good attendance record is a condition of employment at Tri-City Electric Co. We expect all employees to be regular and reliable. Excessive absenteeism and excessive adjustment of your standard work schedule is unacceptable per our company expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management

  • One to Five years of construction experience preferably in project scheduling

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of Primavera P6
