General Overview
TCS is looking for a highly motivated, organized, driven and collaborative Planner. Reporting to the TCS Operations Manager, is responsible for the scheduling, coordination, planning, and oversight of assigned production activities and functional product lines to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing processes, appropriate inventory levels, and effective utilization of production resources.
This position is to be filled onsite in Chatsworth, CA. No employer visa sponsorship is available.
Responsibilities

Create, issue, manage, monitor, and relieve Manufacturing Orders (MOs) for assigned production and engineering-related products.

Ensure Manufacturing Orders are accurately established and maintained, including required quantities, materials, operations, schedules, and other applicable production requirements.

Monitor the status and progress of open Manufacturing Orders and take appropriate action to ensure jobs remain on schedule and are completed accurately and timely.

Relieve and complete Manufacturing Orders upon completion of production activities, ensuring all required transactions and documentation are accurately recorded in the planning system.

Create and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, production capacity, priorities, and customer requirements.

Manage and plan assigned functional product lines, including production requirements, priorities, schedules, resource availability, and overall job status.

Monitor inventory levels and material requirements to ensure adequate inventory is available to support production schedules and minimize shortages or excess inventory.

Assist with Purchase Order management by monitoring open POs, material due dates, and supplier commitments to support production requirements.

Manage and monitor production jobs and work orders from release through completion, ensuring planning systems accurately reflect current status.

Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve material, scheduling, Manufacturing Order, and production-related issues.

Identify scheduling conflicts and adjust production plans as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, priorities, material availability, or production capacity.

Assist the Operations Manager with various production-related tasks, projects, and operational activities as assigned. Building, buying, and issuing inventory to MOs.
Qualifications
-
0-2 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, materials management, or a related field.

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools; Costpoint experience preferred.

Working knowledge of Manufacturing Orders, work orders, production scheduling, inventory management, and material requirements.

Ability to create, issue, manage, monitor, and relieve Manufacturing Orders accurately and efficiently.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify scheduling, material, inventory, and production issues and take appropriate action.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple production jobs, Manufacturing Orders, schedules, and priorities simultaneously.

Ability to work effectively with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to support production requirements.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and assist the Operations Manager with various production-related activities and projects.

Ability to maintain confidential information
This position may require exposure to information, which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e., the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be "U.S. persons" within the meaning of U.S. regulations.
Compensation

Salary Range: $26.44-$31.25 per hour (based on experience)
