Job Description

At EnergyUnited, we're looking for a highly organized, strategic, and trusted professional to serve as our new Chief of Staff. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Executive Leadership Team to help drive organizational effectiveness and strategic execution. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor, skilled coordinator, and proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently manage competing priorities while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.

What You'll Do

As Chief of Staff, you will play a critical role in supporting the CEO and ensuring priorities move forward across the organization. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a strategic partner and primary support resource to the CEO.

  • Manage and prioritize the CEO's calendar, meetings, travel, and commitments.

  • Coordinate executive briefings, presentations, talking points, and meeting materials.

  • Provide professional support to the Board of Directors, including meeting coordination, travel arrangements, onboarding, education opportunities, and administrative support.

  • Facilitate communication and coordination among the Executive Leadership Team.

  • Track key decisions, action items, and strategic initiatives to ensure organizational follow-through.

  • Coordinate special projects and cross-functional initiatives involving multiple departments.

  • Anticipate needs, identify emerging issues, and help ensure executive priorities remain on track.

  • Handle highly sensitive and confidential information with sound judgment and discretion.

  • Ability to synthesize information and proactively anticipate organizational needs.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and executive scheduling tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • Chief of Staff experience or experience in a comparable role supporting a CEO, President, or senior executive with strategic, organizational, and executive coordination responsibilities is strongly preferred. Experience managing executive calendars and complex organizational priorities.

  • Experience coordinating board governance activities, executive travel, conferences, and special events.

  • Experience working with confidential executive, personnel, or governance matters.

  • Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional projects and organizational initiatives.

  • Electric utility or electric cooperative experience is preferred.

Work Arrangement

This position is classified as Hybrid, allowing work to be performed both from an EnergyUnited office location and from home. In-person attendance for meetings, training, and other business purposes is required.

Residency Requirement

Employees in this position must reside within one of the nineteen counties served by EnergyUnited or within a 40-mile road radius of an EnergyUnited office.
