Full job description

Join us! We have a part-time IT Support Specialist Internship opportunity for a tech-savvy individual looking to gain hands-on experience in technical support, troubleshooting, Microsoft 365 administration, hardware deployment, and nonprofit IT operations.

This is what you'll get to do.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for technology support requests via phone, email, ticketing system, or in person.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues.

  • Assist with user account administration, including password resets and access requests.

  • Install, configure, and update software applications and technology equipment.

  • Document, track, and update service requests in the IT help desk ticketing system.

  • Escalate unresolved or complex technical issues to appropriate IT staff.

  • Maintain asset inventory records and assist with computer setup, deployment, and equipment replacements.

  • Support Microsoft 365 and other cloud-based technology solutions.

  • Provide excellent customer service while assisting employees with technology-related questions and concerns.

  • Follow IT security, data privacy, and organizational technology policies.

  • Assist with additional technology projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree, certificate, or training program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related field at an accredited college, university, or technical program.

  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, computer hardware, and networking concepts.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and cloud-based technologies preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work effectively in a team environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.

  • Must be 18 years of age.

  • This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender Registry, and a criminal history check.

Details:

  • Part-time, approximately 10-15 hours per week (regular schedule will fluctuate between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday-Friday).

  • Working onsite at our Ansborough office in Waterloo, IA.

  • Internship will run approximately 13 weeks.

  • This is a paid internship opportunity, with an hourly rate of $15.00/hour .
