THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the daily office operations of the State Correctional Institution at Muncy by handling a wide range of clerical tasks. The role ensures that information is properly prepared, shared, and organized for smooth facility operations. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

General Correspondence:Prepare, type, copy, scan, and distribute letters, memoranda, meeting minutes, and other documents

Meeting Support:Attend meetings and record minutes for distribution

Mail Handling:Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and respond to emails
-
Phone Communication:Answer calls, direct callers, take messages, and provide information according to policy

Data Management:Enter and maintain information across DOC applications including APR, DOCNet, and Mainframe

Supply Ordering:Order office supplies for the assigned work area as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
-
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
-
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
-
Graduation from high school; or
-
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements (NSRs):
- Must possess keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
Additional Requirements:
-
Must understand how to efficiently use and navigate a personal computer.
-
Two (2) years or more of experience with the Microsoft systems (Word/Excel/Outlook, etc.) and
other software packages to create and maintain spreadsheets/calendars/documents/rosters etc.
-
Ability to work with various office equipment such as: scanner, printer, fax machine, computer, tablet, telephone, personal communication devices etc.
-
Previous experience working in an office setting as a clerk and or personal assistant
-
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
