Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION – Claims Senior Analyst - Flex Job Summary This is a 6-month temporary assignment, working US hours, to occur from Oct 1 – April 16.

This assignment will be a strong opportunity for anyone seeking to grow skillsets in T-SQL, PowerShell, and similar scripting languages used for large-scale reporting automation & creation. The Claims Analytics Specialist is responsible for owning the metrics and measurement relating to global claims efforts. He/She will own the creation and maintenance of data models, financial analyses, and project success measures. This position will collaborate with cross-functional groups to collect, report, and measure business processes and outcomes. Through this assignment, the candidate will have opportunity to expand their knowledge of the claims process/strategy and better understand package movement through the entire lifecycle.

The Claims Analytics Specialist will manage and store processes, standards, and metrics that relate to current and future-state initiatives. They will frequently be tasked with conducting analyses on large data sets to evaluate, quantify, and prioritize trends, issues, and opportunities relating to global claims processes.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Collect and synthesize metrics on a regular basis with updates to key stakeholders, which includes both qualitative and quantitative measurements
  • Develop optimization models that will complement complex data strategies
  • Determine key success metrics with input from key stakeholders
  • Manage the reporting of key success measures of global claims initiatives
  • Apply financial analysis to recommend solutions that support business objectives
  • Support requests from internal groups to provide analysis on various claims related projects
  • Manipulate data accurately to answer business questions
  • Translate manual processes to become more autonomous
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on claims analyses and reporting processes
  • Verify data output to spot inconsistencies and errors
  • Identify key factors behind basic problems and establish a path to solve them

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree (or Internationally comparable degree)
  • Proficiency with MS SQL, Excel, Access, and business intelligence tools
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of statistical terminology and understanding of analytics
  • Self-starter, very curious, and independent and quick learner

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • TSQL, VBA, PowerShell and Python skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to utilize analytical tools to perform routine analysis, document approach, and review results
  • Possess an understanding of relevant financial measures, revenue and cost drivers
  • Understanding of statistical measures of standard deviation, correlation, simple linear regression, etc.
  • Working knowledge of UPS claims processes, systems, and terminology
