Product Lead
Napster
Function: Product Reports To: CPO Location: Anywhere in US (CST, EST) or UK
About Napster Napster offers lifelike AI agents that meet your customers wherever they are, and collaborate with your employees as coworkers. Agents that meet your customers on your website, inside your app, on a kiosk in a hospital lobby or a quick-service counter. And agents that work right next to your people, a real crew for every single employee.
The opportunity Station is Napster's agent in the physical world, an embodied agent that works the store floor. It has presence. A base that turns and tracks the customer, so motion makes it feel alive rather than a screen people walk past. It meets shoppers on the floor and helps store teams serve more of them: answering routine questions, locating products, checking availability, and handing off to a person when a situation needs one. Underneath, it works through the retailer's own approved systems and permissions rather than a parallel stack. The ambition is to make embodied on-floor assistance something many retailers can run: light to integrate, quick to stand up against a clear readiness model, and built to augment the floor so no customer walks away unhelped. This role owns the product that gets it there. This is a deeply technical product role for someone who has owned a runtime, platform, or device-level system, generalized a single-customer system for many without breaking the original, and is fluent enough with engineering to own an integration model, not just a backlog. In this role, you will
- Own the Station product: the on-floor experience and the system that lets it work through each retailer's approved systems and permissions.
- Own the deployment model that takes a new retailer live quickly against a clear readiness bar, with light integration.
- Own the readiness bar and the publish-and-handoff model that let Station scale across many retailers without bespoke work each time.
- Own the runtime that drives what happens on the device, and the roadmap behind it.
Your first 90 days You take a clear-eyed measure of what makes a deployment slow, define the readiness bar that gets a new retailer live fast, and support the next deployment end to end. By day 90 the test is simple: a new retailer can go live against a clear model, in less time and with less custom work than before.
How you'll know it's working New retailers go live faster, with less bespoke work each time. The on-floor experience holds up in real, busy stores. Component reuse rises across deployments. Who you'll work with You partner with Engineering on the runtime and the systems integration, with the forward-deployed leads on what real stores need, and with the teams selling and supporting Station in the field.
Competencies
- Runtime Depth. You have owned a runtime, platform, or device-level system and made it reliable at scale.
- Generalize without Breaking. You take a single-customer system to many without breaking the original.
- AI-First Operator. You treat the floor as a feedback system: interaction logs and escalation patterns synthesized with AI into measurable gains in how well the agent supports staff and shoppers.
- Engineering Fluency. You are credible with engineers on architecture and own an integration model, not just a backlog.
- Fast, Light Deployment. You get a new site live quickly against a clear readiness model, not through a six-month custom build.
- Physical-AI Instinct. You understand what makes an agent on a real floor feel present and useful.
Why this is one of the best seats, period Physical AI is the frontier, and you would own an embodied agent built to run in many stores, not one showcase. If turning a breakthrough on the floor into a product many stores can run is the work you want, this is the seat.
