Job Description

Position Overview AT&T FirstNet is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support go-to-market planning and operational execution across FirstNet product initiatives. This individual will partner closely with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to drive product launches from planning through execution, manage deliverables and dependencies, identify gaps and risks, and help ensure teams remain aligned to targeted launch dates. The ideal candidate combines strong project management fundamentals with a business-process and customer-experience mindset. This person should be highly organized, proactive, comfortable working with urgency, and capable of driving stakeholders toward completion while maintaining strong working relationships. Telecommunications experience is not required. The team is looking for someone with demonstrated project experience who can quickly learn FirstNet products, processes, and AT&T-specific systems.

Key Responsibilities Go-to-Market & Project Management

  • Project manage go-to-market planning and execution for FirstNet product launches.

  • Manage project deliverables, timelines, dependencies, risks, and launch readiness.

  • Partner closely with Product Managers throughout project execution.

  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to keep deliverables moving toward completion.

  • Identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and potential issues that could impact product launches.

  • Drive stakeholder follow-up and accountability.

  • Support both product-development-related and operational initiatives.

  • Communicate project status, risks, decisions, and outstanding requirements to appropriate stakeholders.

  • Take on increasingly complex initiatives as knowledge of the FirstNet business grows. Operations & Customer Experience

  • Evaluate business processes through the lens of the customer and end-user experience.

  • Identify operational gaps that could negatively impact customers.

  • Understand how internal processes and product decisions affect the downstream customer experience.

  • Partner with stakeholders to resolve operational challenges and process gaps.

  • Help develop and improve processes that support successful product launches and ongoing customer experience.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and consistency. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as a close project partner to Product Managers.

  • Coordinate across stakeholders with varying priorities and responsibilities.

  • Facilitate project discussions and drive decisions and action items forward.

  • Hold stakeholders accountable to commitments while maintaining positive working relationships.

  • Escalate risks, blockers, and dependencies appropriately.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a highly organized, proactive Project Manager who knows how to drive work to completion. This person should:

  • Move with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Identify gaps before they become larger problems.
  • Be comfortable pushing stakeholders while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Understand what successful project execution looks like.
  • Think beyond the immediate task and consider the impact on the customer experience.
  • Be comfortable operating in a technical environment without needing to be a developer.
  • Learn quickly and adapt to AT&T-specific systems and processes.
  • Be capable of growing into increasingly complex FirstNet initiatives over time.
  • Background in Telecom

What Success Looks Like

  • Assigned FirstNet launches remain organized and progressing toward target dates.
  • Deliverables, dependencies, risks, and outstanding decisions have clear visibility.
  • Potential gaps and customer-impacting issues are identified early.
  • Strong partnerships are established with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Stakeholders are consistently driven toward commitments and deadlines.
  • Operational processes are evaluated with the end-user experience in mind.
  • The individual becomes increasingly independent as FirstNet knowledge grows.

Skills and Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management, Program Management, Project Coordination, Product Operations, or similar experience.

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects, deliverables, timelines, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting product launches, go-to-market initiatives, operational programs, or comparable cross-functional projects.

  • Strong business-process mindset and ability to identify gaps or improvement opportunities.

  • Ability to understand how internal processes impact customers and end users.

  • Highly organized with strong prioritization and follow-through.

  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to operate in a fast-moving environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to influence and drive stakeholders while maintaining strong working relationships.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and PivotTables.

  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills.

  • Ability to quickly learn new products, processes, and internal systems. Preferred Qualifications

  • Public sector experience.

  • Telecommunications or wireless experience.

  • Go-to-market or product launch experience.

  • Experience partnering directly with Product Managers.

  • Experience supporting technical or technology-oriented products.

  • Experience serving as a project or sub-plan owner within larger programs.

  • Experience improving customer-facing business processes.
