Job Duties

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ASSISTANT (TEMPORARY)

The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA), a division of Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC), is seeking a temporary, part-time, (16 hrs/wk), Community Engagement Assistant. This temporary position offers meaningful, project-based experience at the intersection of public health workforce development, community engagement, and aging services with real community impact. Primary duties and responsibilities will include supporting Launch North healthcare career exploration events, including participant recruitment and outreach, day-of coordination, post-event survey administration and career pathway outcome tracking across target populations including disconnected youth, dislocated workers, and career changers; supporting the Age-Friendly Minnesota initiative through assisting with event planning and coordinating including setup, registration, participant engagement and logistics; assisting with the Minnesota Story Collective by conducting individual interviews and supporting group story collection activities such as focus groups and community listening sessions; organizing and documenting gathered narratives following established consent and data privacy protocols. This position will also contribute to the development of outreach materials, social media content, newsletters, and other communications; maintain project records, contact lists, and event documentation; participate in team meetings and provide administrative support as needed; and complete other duties as assigned.

Required education, experience and *skills:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalency

  • 1 year of customer service, data entry or clerical experience.

  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record required.

  • This position is contingent upon a successful background check.

Salary: $19.00-$21.00/hour (based on experience)

ARDC offers a competitive benefits package that includes health insurance (including family), dental, and life insurance, paid time off, MN PMFLA, holidays and more.

Hours: 16 hours/week, M-F, day position. Moderate regional travel and occasional evenings/weekend events attendance required.

Duration: September 2026 – June 2027

Location: Employees could be located in any of the seven NE MN Counties (Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, St. Louis) or WI (Douglas County). There are three work options: work in the Duluth office, a hybrid model (partial work in the Duluth office and partial work from home), or fully remote. When working offsite, employees must meet specific internet criteria including demonstrated high speed connect ability and the ability to meet privacy and security standards with secure (password protected) internet and demonstrate successful performance.
