Overview

Helio Health is seeking a credentialedFamily Peer Advocatefor theYouth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)program who will provide formal and informal support, based on lived experience, to families who are raising a child/children ages 10 to 21 experiencing social and emotional challenges. ThisFamily Peer Advocate (FPA)position isFull-Time, during regular business hours,Monday - Friday. Helio Health is looking for a candidate interested in community-based work and who is committed to supporting children with complex mental health needs and their families.

Pay Rang e: $19.00/hr. - $22.00/hr.

This position is eligible for a Sign-On Incentive up to $3,000.00!

Responsibilities

  • Educate recipients about self-help techniques and self-help group processes

  • Teach recipients effective coping strategies and symptom management skills based on personal lived experience

  • Assist in clarifying rehabilitation for recipients

  • Provide family to family support

  • Assist in navigation of systems and connections to external services

  • Actively participate in daily team meetings for status review, service plan updates and staff assignments

  • Complete all required documentation

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 and have a High School diploma or a GED.

  • Possess a credential as aFamily Peer Advocate(FPA) orYouth Peer Advocate (YPA), recognized by the NYS Office of Mental Health.

  • Lived experience raising a child with serious emotional disturbance and familiarity with associated challenges.

  • Must deliver client services in the community.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and own transportation:

  • Circare’s insurance carrier requires that Circare employees who drive personal vehicles for work maintain minimum auto insurance coverage limits of at least $100,000/person; $300,000/accident and that employees provide HR with proof of current minimum insurance coverage (copy of Auto Liability Insurance Declaration Page) on their first day of employment. Employees are required to provide an updated Auto Liability Insurance Declaration Page to HR by expiration date on Declaration Page.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Good data management and utilization skills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Multilingual a plus.
