Full job description

The Sociology Department at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs is hiring an Associate Teaching Professor (renewable, non-tenure track) in the area of Law, Society, and Policy (LSP). We are seeking an instructor and scholar with a record of teaching excellence to teach a variety of courses within the LSP Integrated Learning Major and eventually serve as its director. Course offerings might include, but are not limited to: Sociology of Law, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Policing and Society, Immigration Law and Policy, Law and Social Change, Theories of Justice, and Human Rights and International Law. The initial course load will be adjusted to account for any change in administrative effort. Position starts Fall 2027 for a 3 year term.

This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by a union, SEIU Local 200 United.
