Full job description

Job Description DUTIES: Understand core strategies, feature requirements, UX requirements and operational process requirements for OTA programming. Understand implementation project timelines and vehicle program rollout timing. Lead multi-functional effort of Product Development, Aftersales Engineering, CX, and other resources who support software updates, from project inception, validation, approval process through delivery. Collaborate with the Validation organization to develop and execute a comprehensive validation plan to ensure robust field performance; establish launch plan for each assigned project. Passion for resolution of all issues surfaced during development process that lack a natural owner or require multi-functional coordination. Drive formal closed-loop-learning for issues identified during update campaigns back to natural owners to ensure long-term corrective action. Define and Refine robust scalable processes and formally document for consumption by multi-functional team members as well as new team members. 10% travel to client sites domestically.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and System Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study. Five (5) years of experience as a Validation Engineer, Junior Data Analyst, Engineering Technician, or a related occupation. Three (3) years of experience with: Database management including optimizing SQL queries in relational databases and big data platforms including Hive. Two (2) years of experience with: Exercising 8D and 5 Why’s problem solving technique to identify root cause and propose expected improvements from failure fixes; Project management; Automotive electrical systems and vehicle programming; Operational process requirement including Back Office processes for connected vehicle services; and Software Release tools including Engineering Change Management (ECM), Soft Part Release (SPR), Problem Resolution and Tracking system (PRTS), GlobalSIM (GSIM), Remote Reflash Test Tool (R2T2). Global Softpart Authoring System (GSPAS), Vehicle Control Application Management, and Vehicle Spy and CANalyzer. One (1) year of experience with: OTA update management.
