Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. The University will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B).

Job Summary

Oversees the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, migration, and inventory of Library Technology equipment and software and provides systems administration and technical support for library technology platforms. Serves as systems administrator for assigned library applications, manages the Library Technology support queue and equipment reservations, and serves as a primary technical resource for library systems, desktop technology, and digital initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides desktop and technical support for Library Technology services not covered by iTech, including installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, migration, and repair of computers, software, printers, peripherals, and related technology.

  • Manages the Library Technology support queue and equipment reservations, documents service requests and resolutions, communicates status updates, and identifies recurring issues and opportunities to improve support services.

  • Administers assigned library systems, including Omeka and ArchivesSpace, and serves as backup administrator for Alma, Primo VE, and Tipasa. Manages configurations, user access, system maintenance, performance, and availability.

  • Serves as the primary technical liaison with vendors for assigned library systems and assists with troubleshooting, upgrades, testing, integrations, documentation, and disaster recovery activities.

  • Maintains technology inventory and assists with the evaluation, acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and replacement of Library Technology equipment and software.

  • Provides technical support for library digital initiatives, including the Mississippi Digital Library, Aquila Digital Community, digitization projects, research data management, and digital preservation activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
