Full job description

Description We are looking for a Global Forwarding Coordinator to support export documentation and regulatory filing activities for a Long-term Contract position based in Laredo, Texas. This role is ideal for someone who works independently, solves problems quickly, and stays organized while handling time-sensitive logistics tasks. The position focuses on maintaining accurate shipment records, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and helping ensure export transactions meet applicable U.S. trade requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete required export filings accurately and submit them within established deadlines.

  • Examine shipping and trade documents to confirm they meet U.S. export compliance standards.

  • Verify key shipment details such as classification data, declared values, quantities, and destination country information before processing.

  • Investigate filing issues, documentation errors, and shipment delays, then take action to resolve them promptly.

  • Coordinate with internal departments, clients, carriers, and government contacts to clarify filing needs and shipment status.

  • Maintain organized compliance records and supporting documentation in line with regulatory retention requirements.

  • Track export activity to help ensure adherence to agency rules, census reporting obligations, and customs requirements.

  • Assist with audit preparation, operational reporting, and process improvement efforts that strengthen compliance performance.

  • Raise compliance risks when identified and contribute recommendations for corrective action.

  • Manage competing priorities effectively while maintaining accuracy and close attention to detail, including support for rotating weekend and occasional night-shift coverage. Requirements • Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping coordination, or export documentation support.

  • Knowledge of U.S. export compliance practices, trade documentation, and regulatory filing procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.

  • Effective communication skills for working with customers, carriers, internal teams, and regulatory contacts.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard administrative or reporting tools.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Customer service mindset with solid research, recordkeeping, and reporting capabilities.

  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are preferred. TalentMatch®
