What You'll Do

  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of all Fiber Splicer duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely and to standard
  • Provide daily updates to Project Managers on progress and forecasts
  • Track productivity, labor, and material usage while maintaining project budgets
  • Provide technical guidance on complex fiber issues; perform hands-on splicing during critical outages
  • Review and QC OTDR and power meter test results
  • Maintain accurate daily updates in Fieldwire (QC, photos, splicing records)
  • Provide customer documentation including as-builts and fiber matrices
  • Lead job safety efforts and enforce OSHA / company safety protocols

Working Conditions Outdoor, physical role with travel across markets (10–50%). After-hours and emergency repair work as needed.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of fiber optic splicing, telecom, or related field experience
  • Proven experience leading splicing teams, crews, or subcontractors
  • Advanced knowledge of fiber splicing, OTDR/power meter testing, and industry standards
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to read fiber schematics, splice diagrams, and construction prints
  • Experience with Fieldwire or similar field tracking platforms preferred
  • Valid driver's license required; FOA CFOT (or equivalent) fiber certification preferred
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred; bucket truck certification required or ability to obtain
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather
