Full job description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. This role partners closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and quality teams to strengthen product reliability, improve process performance, and help maintain compliance with customer and industry standards. The position combines hands-on technical problem-solving with data-driven quality improvement across new and existing products.

Responsibilities:

  • Track quality performance indicators such as inspection results, test outcomes, warranty trends, customer feedback, and corrective action response times to drive improvement efforts.

  • Help sustain compliance with ISO 9001 requirements by supporting quality system activities, documentation, and audit readiness.

  • Participate in internal and external audits and assist with follow-up actions to address findings and strengthen process control.

  • Analyze production and quality data to uncover recurring issues, identify improvement opportunities, and support informed decision-making.

  • Lead or contribute to root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive measures to resolve product and process concerns.

  • Partner with suppliers and purchasing teams to address vendor-related quality issues and improve incoming material performance.

  • Review drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics to verify manufacturability, assembly requirements, and documentation accuracy.

  • Provide technical support for new product launches, test fixture setup, continuity test programming, and troubleshooting of board assembly issues to the component level.

  • Evaluate manufacturing methods to improve workflow, labor efficiency, product flow, and production capacity while maintaining accurate technical records.

  • Travel between company and customer locations as needed to support audits, quality reviews, training activities, and issue resolution. Requirements • At least 3 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.

  • Degree in electronics, engineering technology, quality, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

  • Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, technical specifications, and electrical schematics.

  • Working knowledge of printed circuit board assembly and wire harness manufacturing processes.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems and quality assurance practices.

  • Experience participating in audits, managing corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Understanding of surface mount technology and wave soldering processes.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working across engineering, production, purchasing, quality, and customer-facing teams.
