Full job description

Rate: $15 USD per hour

Description

State Bank of Southern Utah is seeking an intern to work with our Risk Management team. Hours are 20 hours per week but daily schedules can be flexible to fit the needs of the chosen student. SBSU strives to partner with local universities to identify Junior or Senior class students to fill our internship openings. The selected candidate will assist with routine risk management activities, including collecting and organizing vendor due diligence documentation, supporting vendor and departmental risk assessments, performing data entry and reporting functions, and assisting with various risk management projects. The position provides exposure to vendor management, enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and community banking operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Learn the fundamentals of financial services and risk analysis in project settings

  • Gain insight into risk management through a variety of audit projects

  • Assist with the collection, organization, and tracking of vendor due diligence documentation.

  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and analysis related to risk management activities.

  • Support Risk Management initiatives and departmental projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Within 12 months of attaining a bachelor’s degree in accounting or enrolled in a MBA or MACC program

  • Grade point average of a 3.0 minimum

  • No criminal record of any kind; Human Resources will complete a thorough background check

  • Ability to work 18-20 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel

  • Experience working in a professional setting

  • Ability to follow audit procedures
