Sr Accountant

Position Summary

• This position performs a wide variety of accounting duties such as participating in the month-end close of the general ledger, submitting reports to external parties and preparing various account analyses. The position requires the ability to problem solve and work both independently and in a group.

Primary Position Responsibilities

• Prepare and enter various journal entries for assigned accounts, ensuring all activity is recorded

• Perform various account analyses and reconciliations on a monthly basis, including intercompany transactions, accruals and specialty areas of accounting including fund accounting and grants management, as applicable.

• Prepare financial reports in compliance with external reporting requirements

• Download monthly and quarterly bank statements for bank reconciliations and journal entries

• Performs detailed analyses of assigned cost centers and compares budget to actual and prior periods

• Perform ad hoc analyses to support management inquiries for revenue and expenses as needed

• Assists with financial reporting by gathering and reporting statistical information

• Assist with year-end audit by assembling supporting documents and providing prepared schedules.

Qualifications

Minimum Education :

Required:

• Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Preferred:

• None

Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation) :

Required:

• Three to five years of directly related professional prior experience required

Preferred:

• Experience in healthcare or non-profit finance preferred

• Two to three years accounting experience in a certified public accounting firm

License, Registry or Certification :

Required:

None

Preferred:

• CPA

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities :

Required:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including lookups and pivot tables

• Detailed knowledge of accounting principles

• Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work

• Advanced Microsoft Office
