Enterprise CMDB Architect

Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Enterprise CMDB Architect to lead the development and implementation of enterprise architecture frameworks, governance standards, and best practices focused on Configuration Management Database (CMDB) capabilities. This individual will partner across the organization to drive CMDB maturity, establish architecture standards, and educate technology teams on the value and adoption of CMDB-driven processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Enterprise Architecture, Business Process Modeling, ServiceNow CMDB, and Orbus, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive organizational change.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-wide architecture frameworks, governance models, and best practices centered around CMDB strategy and adoption.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to establish a comprehensive CMDB roadmap and supporting operating model.
• Leverage Business Process Modeling methodologies to align CMDB capabilities with organizational processes and business outcomes.
• Lead architecture initiatives utilizing platforms such as Orbus and ServiceNow to improve visibility, governance, and asset relationships across the enterprise.
• Define standards, policies, and procedures related to configuration management and enterprise architecture practices.
• Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for CMDB strategy, data governance, and architecture best practices.
• Develop executive-level presentations, process documentation, and architectural artifacts.
• Educate development teams and technical stakeholders on the business value of CMDB adoption and how it supports operational excellence, compliance, and service management.
• Drive organizational change management efforts to encourage adoption of enterprise architecture standards and CMDB processes.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and training sessions across multiple departments and lines of business.
• Collaborate across the enterprise rather than supporting a single airline or business domain, ensuring consistency and alignment of architecture practices.

Skills and Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, CMDB strategy, Configuration Management, or a related discipline.
• Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise architecture frameworks and governance standards.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB and configuration management best practices.
• Experience utilizing Orbus or comparable Enterprise Architecture platforms.
• Deep understanding of Business Process Modeling methodologies and tools.
• Demonstrated success driving enterprise-scale technology adoption and organizational transformation initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Experience developing architecture roadmaps, standards, and governance processes.
• Ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences and gain alignment across multiple organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing CMDB programs within large, complex enterprises.
• Background in IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM).
• Knowledge of enterprise data governance and asset management practices.
• Experience with organizational change management methodologies.
• Relevant certifications such as: o TOGAF o Certified ServiceNow System Administrator o ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) o ITIL Foundation or higher
