In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program , where you will L earn, E ngage, A pply, and P rogress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.

The Opportunity

BAE Systems is seeking aProgrammer Internfor Summer 2027. Join our Software Solutions Team within our IT Program Area and become a member of a diverse, enthusiastic, and highly productive team , where each employee has the opportunity to grow their skills and work on rewarding projects by providing system administration support for COTS/GOTS enterprise software in support of the US Navy's Strategic Systems Programs, the sea-based leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. The selected candidate will perform the following functions working closely with interdisciplinary teams:

• Building and coding applications and/or modules using languages such as Java, C#, visual basic, ABAP, PHP, SQL, XTML, etc.

• Preparing operating instructions, compiling documentation of program development, and analyzing system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls

• Providing patches and upgrades to existing systems

• Building add-on modules using application program language

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Enrolled student at an accredited 4-year college / university having completed a minimum of two years (Sophomore) towards a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or other related degree

• Minimum GPA of 2.8

• Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant field of specialization

• Ability to work well with cross-functional teams

• Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, etc.)

• Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently

• Experience with Java, PHP, C/C /C#, SQL, Object-Oriented Analysis & Design

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience with:

• Java development

• C#

• Familiarity with:

• algorithm development

• object-oriented programming

• software testing

• software engineering disciplines and processes

• relational database concepts

• configuration management

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $48620 - $67640

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
