Summary
This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the General Counsel, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia.
Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Management Analyst (Leader), you will: Independently receive information from throughout and outside the OGC, and summarize, synthesize and compile the information (in diverse study reports, planning documents, and other documents related to the projects) to meet management needs. Lead a team of lower graded analysts/specialists in accomplishing work to be performed; ensuring that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategic goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. Coordinate and facilitate communication to top and middle management; Represent OGC on task forces and committees providing expert data analysis, planning expertise, organizational planning and report writing skills. Serve as an authoritative source of information on a broad range of management issues, develop and present recommendations which serve as a basis for decision making, and operational policy development at the highest level and area of special concern to OGC. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing at least 3 of the following: Collecting, consolidating, analyzing, and/or producing reports on a wide variety of data. Providing technical guidance by assigning and balancing workloads and establishing priorities. Advising on policies and regulations affecting operational programs and procedures. Evaluating programs to ensure the improvement of major program effectiveness. Documenting experience: IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited. You will be evaluated based on how well you meet the qualifications listed in this announcement.
