Description This is a rare opportunity to design your job description and your schedule. We’re hiring a Cardiology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Part-Time /Contract for Inpatient Consults Across El Paso or a Full-Time Hybrid Role including Inpatients/Outpatients/Research. Broaden your clinical experience, work closely with an experienced cardiologist, and participate in clinical research, while caring for patients with acute cardiovascular conditions.

Requirements Essential Duties:
- Provide inpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care across El Paso-area hospitals.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and complex cardiovascular conditions.
- Provide pre-surgical clearances
- Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, and develop evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising cardiologist.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including laboratory testing, electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, and cardiac imaging.
- Manage cardiovascular medications and monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
- Collaborate with hospitalists, nursing teams, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation within each hospital’s electronic medical record system.
- Support discharge planning, follow-up coordination, and transitions of care.
- Participate in clinical research activities, including identifying potential participants and supporting study-related clinical procedures.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Participate in rotating call, weekend, or holiday coverage as agreed upon.
Qualifications:
- Acute-care or hospital inpatient experience
- Comfortable managing patients with acute cardiovascular conditions
- Conversational Spanish preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills

Education and Experience:
- NP degree required from a U.S. accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Active Board Certification is required.
- Current and Active license to practice in the U.S.
- 1 or more years of healthcare experience in a U.S. community practice setting, including in cardiovascular disease management.
- Willing to train the right candidate
