Job Description Summary

Sunbelt Rentals is expanding our Energy Solutions division to meet the needs of hyperscale clients and the rapidly evolving landscape of data center and large-scale power generation projects. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex projects focused on low and medium voltage systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and behind-the-meter utility solutions.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, financial management, and strategic execution of hyper-scale and mission critical projects—including data centers, large-scale power generation, and BESS installations. You will collaborate with internal teams, third-party vendors, and hyperscale clients to ensure timely, on-budget delivery while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, leading training and annual certification initiatives (e.g., Engaged for life, Sunbelt University).

• Develop and execute strategic project plans aligned with company objectives, ensuring revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence.

• Provide technical and organizational leadership for cross-functional teams managing the design, installation, and commissioning of energy solutions projects.

• Oversee project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to ensure all deliverables meet client specifications and company standards.

• Serve as primary client liaison for hyperscale and enterprise accounts, building strong, trust-based relationships and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.

• Mentor and develop project management talent, fostering high-performance teams and supporting professional growth.

• Manage third-party labor partnerships, ensuring Sunbelt representation and quality control on all active sites.

• Evaluate project financials—including P&L, cost-to-completion, and revenue projections—taking corrective actions as needed to maximize profitability.

• Authorize and execute change orders, monitor material delivery schedules, and drive solutions for logistical challenges.

• Provide detailed weekly reports on project performance, revenue, and expenses to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of project management experience, ideally in energy solutions, electrical contracting, power generation, or data center infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing large-scale projects involving low and medium voltage systems, BESS, and utility interconnections.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Proven track record building and leading high-performance teams in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
• Experience with project financial management, including forecasting, cost modeling, and P&L oversight.
• PMP or similar certification preferred.
• Understanding of safety compliance and regulatory standards for utility-scale and behind-the-meter projects.
• Strong client-facing skills, with a history of successful delivery for enterprise or hyperscale customers.

Base Pay Range: $98,572.80 - 135,537.60 Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
