Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Plasma Physics Research Engineer. In this role, you will develop advanced plasma technologies, design and execute tests to validate performance, and collaborate with a cross-functional team to integrate solutions into larger system architectures. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of plasma physics, experimental physics, and hardware troubleshooting.
Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Performs research and/or product development encompassing multiple engineering disciplines, such as electronics, electrical, mechanical, and/or chemical.
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Experience conducting laboratory experiments with plasmas.

Experience with diagnostic and data analysis techniques for plasmas

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance to be obtained. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills

M.S. in Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline

Experience with high voltage, high power electrical systems

Experience with scientific computational tools (e.g. MATLAB, Python, 3D CAD, COMSOL, ANSYS)

Experience in plasma and/or electromagnetic modeling and simulation
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00

Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.

For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
