Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.

  • Experience designing for native app-first experiences (e.g., iOS, Android).

  • Experience contributing to mature design systems including component design, documentation, and education.

  • Experience designing for consumer-facing products.

  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.

At Google, we "Focus on the user and all else will follow." As a UX Interaction Designer, you’ll join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

You’ll always start from a user-centered app-first mindset to drive intuitive, highly engaging user journeys for our products. You’ll bring a builder's mindset with strong craft and the ability to make design decisions that result in a coherent user experience while also assessing for execution, longevity and scale of designs. You’ll have an aesthetic sensibility, understanding relevant trends to make design decisions that increase the overall appeal of our product set. You’ll be a systems thinker with the ability to analyze existing landscapes and consider how factors or components interrelate with each other and within the context of larger systems. You’ll bring AI fluency to effectively interact and prototype with AI tools, understand core AI concepts and limitations and critically assess desired outputs for accuracy.

On the Google Images team you will help reimagining what it means to search and explore the world’s visual information – any way, anywhere and in ways that are hyper-personalized, multimodal and intelligent using the best of AI. US: $159000 - $230000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.

  • Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or high fidelity prototypes.

  • Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.

  • Advocate for the prioritization of design centered changes, refinements, and improvements.
