Summary
This opportunity is within our Centralized Commercial Lending team, leading the Loss Mitigation and SBA PM Group. This position will be responsible for identifying trends and alerting management to changes in portfolio conditions. Partners with relationship managers to finalize credit package terms, workout structures and independently prioritizes requests. Additional duties are managing the SBA Portfolio Management Team, which includes managing and monitoring the health of the SBA Portfolio, ensuring compliance with SBA regulations, and approving servicing requests.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Leading and motivating a team

Inspiring and guiding employees to achieve objectives.

Distributing work effectively and ensuring accountability.

Conducting performance reviews and assessments. Evaluating employee performance and providing feedback.

Monitor past due loans within the CCL portfolio and identify potential downgrade situations.

Participate in deal team meetings between Relationship Managers, Market Presidents and Senior Credit Officers as required.

Coach and mentor staff, provides guidance and direction on underwriting decisions, and offers expertise in financial and industry analysis, along with a strong knowledge of First Horizon Credit Culture and Commercial Loan Policy.

Review, analyze and evaluate financial and pertinent data to determine credit worthiness of loan prospects and merits of specific loan requests. Collaborate with Relationship Managers, leaders, and Business Development Officers to gather all necessary information to present an accurate and complete assessment of the loan presented. On occasion, interact with clients or representatives virtually or in person calls in conjunction with Relationship Manager on larger credits.

Ability to provide recommendations on loan structuring and alternative structures that may be more appropriate for the transaction.

Work independently on special projects related to credit topics and issues as requested by CCL Department Management.

Support the Bank's strong relationship banking culture through on-going internal partner contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge. Understand and adhere to the Bank's Bank Secrecy Act policy and procedures and "know your customer/enhanced due diligence" guidelines. Brings any suspicious activity to the attention of a supervisor, or the Bank Secrecy Act Officer. Follow all Bank policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating certain personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; providing pay change recommendations; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications Include:

Bachelor’s degree required for consideration.

Managerial experience preferred but not required.
-
At least ten years of commercial credit experience preferred.
-
Fundamental understanding of commercial credit underwriting.
-
Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.

Ability to work successfully in a deadline driven team environment.

Strong MS Office skills, especially with Excel.
-
Must be organized and meticulous with the ability to multitask.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Good fundamental understanding of general bank operations, proficient understanding of the components of financial planning, deposit products, small business products, investment, and insurance products.
