Full job description

Pediatric Home Service is a friendly and professional leader in home health care with a singular passion for and commitment to taking care of the child.   • Position: Respiratory Therapist

  • Location: Indianapolis, IN

  • Hours: Monday- Friday, 8 am- 5 pm. Weekends/On-call as determined by leadership

  • Requirements: Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT/RCP) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

The Position:

  • Uses analytical ability to perform initial patient assessments including physical, functional, social and environmental resource requirements and needs; Ensures communication and coordination of services /care among all clinical services

  • Performs initial equipment set-up and patient/family/caregiver education

  • Develops patient specific plans of care based on initial assessments to include problems, goals and interventions

  • Reviews and revises care plans on an ongoing basis and ensure that all patients are followed according to that plan per PHS policy

  • Ensures that all required documentation is completed accurately and within the time frames set forth in PHS policy

  • Participates in care conferences and collaborates with all care team members internally and externally

  • Participates in day-to-day trouble shooting; Performs all on-call activities, analyze problems, formulates solutions, and notifies manager on-call as needed

  • Schedule all patient visits per PHS follow-up policy

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory program and/or nursing program

  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT/RCP) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

  • One year of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

  • Neonatal & Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification
