Senior Developer - Commercial Applications

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Developer, Commercial Applications for an initial 8-month contract with potential for extension. This position follows a hybrid schedule of 4 days onsite in Houston, TX and 1 day remote. The successful candidate will join a large technology team supporting multiple commercial application initiatives, including the migration of Canadian business operations onto a U.S.-based platform supporting trading, risk, and invoicing processes. This is a highly hands-on role where the developer will be responsible for solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while working closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and Application Management Services teams. The ideal candidate will be able to translate business requirements into technical solutions, participate in architecture and design discussions, develop and support enterprise applications and integrations, and drive continuous improvements across critical commercial systems.

Skills and Requirements

• 12+ years of software development experience

• Strong hands-on experience with PowerBuilder

• Strong hands-on experience with C# / Microsoft .NET technologies

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server

• Experience developing and supporting database-driven enterprise applications

• Experience working with APIs and application integrations

• Experience with PowerBuilder and .NET build/release management

• Oil & Gas or Energy industry experience Understanding of the Oil & Gas commercial data lifecycle (trade capture, validation, processing, invoicing, downstream integrations)

• Experience with volumetric scheduling processes and related Oil & Gas data

• Experience supporting trading, risk, or invoicing applications

• Experience migrating applications or business processes between platforms

• Knowledge of web server technologies

• Experience with Application Management Services (AMS) teams

• Experience working on large-scale enterprise integration projects Ability to quickly become productive in complex commercial business environments
