Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor Job Description
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations while leading, training, and supporting warehouse associates to ensure productivity, accuracy, and safety. This role manages core activities such as receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control, while maintaining compliance with company standards and OSHA requirements. The Warehouse Supervisor monitors workflow, adjusts staffing and processes to meet deadlines, and ensures inventory is accurately stored, labeled, and tracked within the warehouse management system.
Responsibilities

Supervise, train, and support warehouse associates to achieve productivity, accuracy, and safety goals.

Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.

Monitor workflow and adjust staffing levels or processes to meet deadlines and operational targets.

Ensure all inventory is stored, labeled, and tracked accurately within the warehouse management system (WMS).

Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with full physical inventories to maintain inventory accuracy.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.

Coordinate with logistics, production, and purchasing teams to resolve order or inventory discrepancies.

Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards throughout the warehouse.

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational errors.

Prepare daily and weekly reports on productivity, inventory accuracy, and team performance.

Support shipping and receiving activities, including documentation, staging, and verification of orders.

Oversee general labor, general production, and machine operation tasks as needed to support workflow.

Ensure proper use of equipment such as forklifts and other material-handling tools in accordance with safety guidelines.

Support GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements within the warehouse, especially related to food products.

Collaborate with inventory control personnel to manage warehouse inventory and maintain accurate records.
Essential Skills
-
Proven ability to supervise and support warehouse associates in a fast-paced environment.
-
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, picking, packing, and inventory control.

Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking processes.
-
Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) in a warehouse or food-related environment.
-
Ability to enforce safety procedures and quality standards in alignment with OSHA and company policies.
-
Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
-
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
-
Ability to work effectively on 1st shift (2:00 PM10:00 PM) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM7:00 AM, MondaySaturday), as required.

Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes and documentation.

Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams such as logistics, production, and purchasing.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in food manufacturing or production is preferred.

Any prior GMP experience is considered an asset.

Experience with forklift operation and other material-handling equipment is beneficial.

Background in general labor, general production, or machine operation is helpful.

Knowledge of warehouse inventory management and inventory control best practices.

Exposure to CDL-related logistics or transportation processes is a plus.

Bilingual communication skills are preferred.

Comfort working in a temperature-controlled environment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, modern, and food-focused warehouse facility designed to meet stringent quality and GMP standards. You will work in a temperature-controlled environment that supports food safety and product integrity. The warehouse operates on structured shifts, including a 1st shift from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and a 3rd shift from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Saturday. The setting involves active, hands-on work with inventory, shipping and receiving, and material-handling equipment, in a new facility that prioritizes organization, cleanliness, and safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
