Salary Range: $40.00-$60.00

About the Role:
Under the general direction of the Director and Manager, the STEMI-Clinical Coordinator provides operational and clinical leadership for the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory while coordinating the hospital's multidisciplinary STEMI program. The position plans, organizes, and supports daily Cath Lab operations and nursing practice; serves as a clinical resource to staff; and collaborates with physician, nursing, emergency, quality, EMS, and cardiovascular leadership to promote timely, evidence-based STEMI care. The coordinator is responsible for STEMI program performance monitoring, regulatory readiness, education, protocol development, and performance improvement, while supporting safe, efficient, high-quality patient care across the cardiovascular continuum.
What You’ll Do:
Cath Lab Clinical Coordination and Daily Operations

Coordinates daily Cath Lab operations, patient flow, assignments, staffing, and skill mix based on patient volume, acuity, procedural needs, and staff competencies.

Reviews daily assignments and plans of care with staff; organizes and prioritizes work assignments and responds to emergency situations according to protocol.

Serves as a clinical resource and charge nurse for registered nurses and interdisciplinary team members, providing support for complex cardiovascular patients and procedures.

Communicates staffing needs, overtime utilization, schedule adjustments, operational concerns, and resource needs to the Director/Manager.

Promotes effective interdisciplinary communication and collaboration among cath lab staff, cardiologists, emergency department, inpatient nursing units, ancillary departments, and leadership.

Supports a safe, positive work environment; manages conflict effectively and establishes productive working relationships with patients, families, providers, colleagues, and leadership.
Clinical Practice, Quality, and Staff Development

Assists the Director and manager in implementing and maintaining departmental nursing policies, procedures, protocols, and clinical practice standards.

Participates in quality improvement activities, data collection, monitoring, and development or revision of policies, procedures, and guidelines to improve cardiovascular patient care.

Assist with new-hire unit orientation, preceptor assignments, and monitors the effectiveness and progress of orientation.

Provides ongoing staff education, coaching, and feedback; identifies educational opportunities and supports competency development.

Participates in the interview and selection process for new hires and, in collaboration with the Director/Manager, assists with employee performance management and counseling processes as appropriate.

Assists with monitoring staffing, productivity, inventory, quality measures, and other operational metrics as assigned by the Director.
STEMI Program Coordination

Implements and manages a coordinated systems approach to STEMI care for the hospital's PCI program.

Collaborates with the Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line and other physician and nursing leaders to evaluate and continuously improve STEMI care delivery.

Facilitates development and revision of STEMI patient-care protocols, policies, procedures, order sets, and clinical pathways consistent with current program requirements and evidence-based practice.

Monitors STEMI performance through applicable databases and clinical records; analyzes trends, identifies opportunities for improvement, and disseminates performance reports to appropriate stakeholders.

Leads or facilitates performance improvement initiatives when performance falls below established goals or when opportunities for improvement are identified.

Supports compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, quality-reporting, and program requirements related to STEMI and PCI care, including preparation of status reports and documentation for program review.

Coordinates or supports Cardiac Service Line morbidity and mortality review and other multidisciplinary STEMI quality-review activities.

Reviews STEMI cases and care processes across the continuum, including activation, transfer, Emergency Department care, Cath Lab response, PCI, and post-procedure care, to identify system-level opportunities for improvement.
STEMI Education, Outreach, and System Development

Develops and facilitates education for STEMI care providers regarding new or revised clinical practice guidelines, policies, procedures, protocols, and performance expectations.

Collaborates with nursing and physician leadership to support annual STEMI educational requirements and competency needs.

Assists with planning and delivery of STEMI educational opportunities for hospital staff, EMS partners, professional groups, and the community, and maintains records of educational activities.

Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with cardiologists, emergency providers, EMS agencies, transferring facilities, and other regional partners involved in STEMI systems of care.

Participates in departmental and interdepartmental quality improvement activities and cardiovascular service-line initiatives.
What You Bring:
BSN required. Minimum of 3 years of acute-care nursing experience required; cardiovascular, cardiac catheterization, emergency or critical care experience.
