Job Description: This position is responsible for supervising the daily performance of service providers to ensure quality service, improve performance, and maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements. The incumbent encourages sales lead participation by maintaining mutually beneficial customer relationships, responding to customer concerns, identifying business development opportunities, and creating a customer-focused work environment. The incumbent must be DOT-certified and have UPS Package Car driving experience in order to develop and maintain effective operational performance with service providers and other hourly employees as needed.

Responsibilities

Manage and work with on-road employees to maximize efficiency and ensure packages are delivered safely, timely, and professionally. Use the Balanced Scorecard and Quality Improvement Process to track performance against goals. Facilitate execution of the daily dispatch plan. Complete on-road supervision and audit rides. Maintain operational performance by developing and implementing effective work process plans. Troubleshoot service inefficiencies and identify process improvements. Review work processes and schedules while monitoring costs against budget. Apply company policies and procedures to operational situations and business needs. Participate in the development and implementation of work process plans to maximize center proficiency and achieve business results. Ensure implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive health and safety program. Conduct risk management and safety compliance audits. Apply knowledge of company structure and operations to resolve problems, make decisions, and achieve business objectives. Maintain employee safety training records and certifications. Apply workforce planning principles to evaluate labor markets and develop talent attraction strategies. Identify employee training needs and support continuous development plans. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to employees. Conduct performance evaluations and address individual and team performance issues. Foster a collaborative work environment through effective communication and relationship building. Apply legal, regulatory, and safety compliance knowledge to minimize organizational risk. Assess, identify, measure, and monitor customer and business needs, trends, and opportunities. Coach and develop employees using career development processes and tools.

Basic Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, a lawful permanent resident, or otherwise authorized to work in the United States. Employer will not sponsor visas for this position now or in the future. Must be currently located in the same geographic area as the position or willing to self-relocate. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have previous UPS Package Car driving experience. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32 kgs.). Ability to work flexible shifts, up to five days per week. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Must be DOT-certified and willing to complete a physical exam, including a driving test. Must possess a Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree), or be a current UPS employee with a minimum of three years of UPS experience. Pay Range: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105.480,00/year to $154.836,00/year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
