Summary:

The Warehouse Manager assists in the day-to-day warehouse operations. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, delivery preparation, and inventory management. This position provides leadership to warehouse personnel, maintains high standards of customer service, and works closely with sales and operations teams to ensure customers receive the right products, on time.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can effectively manage people, prioritize workload, maintain organization, and hold the team accountable to company standards and expectations.

Reports to: Profit Center Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic math skills

  • Ability to operate a Microsoft-based computer system

  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and wire-measuring equipment

  • Read, speak and comprehend English both orally and in writing

  • Ability to read a map

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years previous warehouse, distribution, logistics, (electrical/industrial supply experience preferred.)

  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.

  • Ability to lift, move, and handle electrical materials and other warehouse products.

  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory/order management systems.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Valid driver's license may be required.

Working Conditions:

Warehouse environment (concrete floors) and outdoor conditions (on asphalt, gravel, or grass) including sometimes extreme hot/cold temperatures.

Essential Job Functions:

Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee all daily warehouse activities, including receiving, stocking, picking, staging, loading, and shipping.

  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse environment.

  • Ensure customer orders are accurately picked, pulled, staged, and prepared for delivery or pickup.

  • Coordinate warehouse workflow to meet customer and branch needs.

  • Monitor incoming and outgoing material to ensure proper handling and documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, productivity, and overall service.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory through proper receiving, stocking, transfers, cycle counts, and adjustments.

  • Help reduce inventory discrepancies, product damage, and material loss.

  • Ensure products are properly labeled, stored, and easily accessible.

  • Support regular physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.

  • Maintain appropriate organization of high-volume and specialty products.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, train, coach, and develop warehouse employees.

  • Establish clear expectations for productivity, accuracy, safety, and customer service.

  • Assign daily responsibilities and manage staffing based on workload and business needs.

  • Hold team members accountable for following company procedures and performance expectations.

  • Promote teamwork and communication between warehouse, sales, delivery, and management personnel.

  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and performance management of warehouse employees.

Safety

  • Maintain a safe warehouse environment and ensure employees follow all safety policies and procedures.

  • Ensure proper use of forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, PPE, and other warehouse equipment.

  • Conduct or participate in regular safety meetings and inspections.

  • Address unsafe conditions and behaviors promptly.

  • Maintain compliance with company safety standards and applicable regulations.

Customer Service & Branch Support

  • Support inside and outside sales teams by ensuring material is available, accurate, and ready when promised.

  • Help resolve customer issues involving order accuracy, material availability, pickups, and deliveries.

  • Maintain a customer-focused warehouse culture.

  • Communicate material shortages, damaged products, backorders, and other issues to the appropriate team members.

Productivity & Financial Performance

  • Monitor warehouse productivity and labor efficiency.

  • Help control operating costs while maintaining service levels.

  • Reduce product damage, errors, returns, and unnecessary handling.

  • Support branch initiatives designed to improve gross profit and overall profitability.

  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, reduce waste, and increase warehouse efficiency.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work throughout the warehouse for extended periods.

  • Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds, with heavier materials requiring appropriate equipment or assistance.

  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.

  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment after appropriate training.

Performance Expectations

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse.

  • Improve inventory accuracy and minimize material loss.

  • Ensure orders are picked and staged accurately and efficiently.

  • Develop a productive, accountable, and dependable warehouse team.

  • Provide exceptional support to customers and branch personnel.

  • Continuously identify ways to improve warehouse productivity and operating efficiency.

  • Support the overall sales, service, and profitability goals of the branch.

Compensation Range:

The compensation range for this position is $60000 to $80000 annually.
