Full job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be an active student advocate that encourages student voice.

  • Works with students on academic planning and goal setting.

  • Provides short term counseling: individual, group, and crisis intervention as needed.

  • Collaboration with teachers, administration, families, and outside resources.

  • Employs data driven decision making in order to provide proactive remediation and intervention.

  • Works to improve equity, access, achievement, and opportunities for all students.

  • Must be creative and passionate instructional leader who possesses the ability to motivate students to strive for academic excellence. Successful candidates will work in a fast paced, challenging environment that is dedicated to academic and social success for all students. Job Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess or be eligible for New York State School Guidance Counselor Certification

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

  • Prior experience at the middle school level preferred.

  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
