Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.

Unit Highlights:

  • PCU Medical 2 (7-Tower) is a multi-system progressive care unit. We serve adults through geriatric lifespan of development that require complex, comprehensive multidisciplinary care. The care team is comprised of nurses, patient care techs, monitor techs, HUCs, education specialists, infection preventionists, care managers, physicians and nursing leaders. There are opportunities to become dobhoff, port certified and learn central line maintenance and care. From intensive care unit step-downs to respiratory patients- we see them all! As a PCU, we can start cardiac and insulin drips. It is a great unit to get a solid foundation of nursing skills in all the body systems

Schedule: Full-Time, 36 hours Shift: Nights, 7pm-7am with rotating weekends & holidays

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.

  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.

  • Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures

  • Ability to work as a Team player within a unit

  • Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills EKG (based on patient ; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)

  • Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)

  • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs

  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes

Education:

  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]

  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

  • 1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

  • Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$31.85 - $52.76 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
