Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Engineer to join our team for an exciting opportunity to work on a unique government contract. This role offers a unique opportunity to support an active test launch program with a team of subject matter experts. The advancement of technical skills and analysis capabilities are emphasized while producing high-quality products and effectively supporting the government customers.

This Flight Test Reentry Vehicle Analysis position will:

  • Evaluate ICBM flight test Booster and Reentry Vehicle telemetry data
  • Perform Reentry Vehicle Body Dynamics and Arming & Fuzing performance analysis
  • Determine the Reentry Vehicle Best Estimate of Trajectory using metric tracking and weather data
  • Review old documentation
  • Apply state estimation techniques (e.g., Kalman filtering or covariance-based methods) to evaluate inertial sensor performance using integrated physics-based models alongside navigation data sources.
  • Reconstruct vehicle trajectories using inertial and navigation data to model and assess flight paths.
  • Design, enhance, and maintain analytical tools to evaluate sensor accuracy and overall flight performance.
  • Develop and deliver technical reports and briefings summarizing sensor performance metrics and system accuracy.

The hourly pay for this position in the Ogden, UT area is $55-$80 an hour. Individual compensation is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, education, qualifications, skill set, geographic location, and applicable employment regulations.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field, Mathematics, or Physics, or computer science from an ABET accredited program
  • 7+ years related experience (2+ years with a Master's degree) for Senior Level and 12+ years for principal
  • Strong analysis experience
  • Recent experience with Kalman filtering/smoothing
  • Technical writing and presentation skills
  • Test data analysis experience
  • MATLAB experience
  • Proficiency in C/C++or python
  • MUST have a Secret Clearance
  • Active TS clearance
  • Reentry Vehicles and/or Reentry Environments experience
  • 6DoF
  • Signal processing
  • Sensor processing
  • Aerodynamics Experience
  • Hypersonic Experience
  • Statistics experience
  • Fortran or Ada programming languages
