Logan Health in Kalispell, MT looking for a skilled and detail-driven Medical Dosimetrist who is passionate about precision, patient safety, and delivering high-quality radiation treatment plans. You’ll be an important member of our Radiation Oncology team, collaborating closely with radiation therapists, medical physicists, radiation oncologists, and other clinical partners.

What This Role Entails

As a Medical Dosimetrist, you’ll play a critical role in developing safe, accurate, and individualized radiation treatment plans. Your work will include:

  • Designing treatment plans that deliver the prescribed radiation dose while protecting critical structures and healthy tissue.

  • Contouring normal and dose-limiting structures using CT, MRI, PET, and other imaging datasets.

  • Performing image registration and creating reference images and localization markers for treatment verification and delivery.

  • Supporting simulations, tumor localization, treatment planning, and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT).

  • Performing dose calculations and verifying mathematical accuracy to ensure precise treatment delivery.

  • Working closely with radiation therapists to implement treatment plans, including immobilization devices, compensators, wedges, field arrangements, and imaging parameters.

  • Supporting the Medical Physicist with radiation safety, quality assurance, machine calibrations, and treatment planning systems.

  • Applying patient and beam dosimetry methods under the direction of the Medical Physicist.

  • Collaborating with the Radiation Oncology team to improve workflows, procedures, quality, and patient safety.

  • Helping onboard and educate new team members on department procedures and best practices.

  • Maintaining accurate, thorough documentation and protecting patient confidentiality.

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • MDCB Certification in Medical Dosimetry OR enrollment in a JRCERT-accredited medical dosimetry program or MDCB board eligibility, with certification obtained within one year of hire.

  • At least 2 years of experience with radiation safety principles, practices, and applicable NRC and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong understanding of treatment planning and the ability to interpret treatment protocols and develop appropriate plans.

  • Strong algebra and trigonometry skills; introductory calculus preferred.

  • Knowledge of clinical guidelines, medical terminology, and healthcare information systems.

  • RQI Provider (BLS) certification within 7 days of hire/transfer or before providing independent patient care, whichever comes first.

Preferred:

  • ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy.

  • Two or more years of experience in radiation oncology, medical physics, and treatment planning.

  • Experience with healthcare informatics, including systems used to acquire, store, and retrieve clinical data.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
