Operations Specialist

Location: Newark, NJ

Position: Full-Time, On-Site

Salary: $40,000–$50,000 per year, based on experience

About the Position

Cawley & Bergmann, LLC is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Specialist to join our Newark, New Jersey team.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, spreadsheets, reports, and technology. You will support our operations team by preparing reports, working with data, identifying discrepancies, and helping ensure information is accurate and organized.

This is not a software development position. We are looking for someone with strong technical aptitude who is comfortable with Excel and has an interest or background in information systems, databases, reporting, or data.

Recent graduates with relevant education, internships, or experience are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and maintain operational reports

  • Work with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, and data files

  • Review data and reports for accuracy and completeness

  • Organize and analyze information from multiple sources

  • Create recurring and ad hoc reports for management

  • Work with internal databases and information systems

  • Assist with data imports, exports, and file formatting

  • Research and troubleshoot reporting or data discrepancies

  • Maintain documentation for reports and processes

  • Help improve reporting and operational workflows

  • Work with operations, management, and technical team members

What We're Looking For

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field preferred

  • Relevant technical, reporting, data, or operations experience may be considered in place of a degree

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, reports, and data

  • Basic understanding of databases and information systems

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to learn new software and systems quickly

  • Good organizational and time-management skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with SQL, programming, scripting, database tools, or advanced Excel functions is a plus, but not required.
