Occupational Health Nurse (RN) - per diem (up to 24 hours per week)

Description

We’re looking for aRegistered Nurse to join our team as a per diem Occupational Health Nurse, providing care and support to our employees across the organization. This is an opportunity to use your nursing expertise in a role that combines clinical assessment, employee health, workplace safety, education, and prevention.

With a schedule ofup to 24 hours per week, this position offers flexibility while allowing you to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our workforce.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide employee health services, including health screenings, review of health assessments, immunizations, and maintenance of confidential employee health records.

  • Assess occupational injuries, illnesses, and workplace exposures, providing appropriate care or referral in accordance with clinical guidelines and established protocols.

  • Support employees returning to workfollowing injury or illness, including work restrictions, modified schedules, job limitations, and other accommodations.

  • Promote a safe and healthy workplaceby identifying potential health and safety concerns and participating in the agency’s Safety and Infection Control Committees.

  • Support infection prevention and control effortsand provide employee education and training related to infection control and workplace health and safety.

  • Maintain required occupational health documentation, including the OSHA 300 Log.

  • Stay current with applicable regulations and professional standardsrelated to employee health, OSHA, infection control, OPWDD, and the Department of Health.

  • Contribute to health and safety policies and proceduresand assist with the agency’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • CurrentNew York State RN license and registration.

  • CurrentCPR certification.

  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, organizational, and planning skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.

  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, and others.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
