The Agricultural Shop and Machinery Supervisor is responsible for leading equipment management, maintenance operations, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives that support timely and efficient seed production. This role ensures that all agricultural machinery, implements, tools, and supporting infrastructure are maintained in optimal operating condition while supporting Corteva's safety culture, compliance requirements, operational excellence, and people development objectives.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with the Agronomy Lead, field operations teams, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS&S), and cross-functional equipment specialty teams to maximize productivity, reliability, and safety across research and seed production activities.

Responsibilities – What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in achieving key R&D pipeline delivery objectives through effective maintenance planning and agricultural equipment support.

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all tractors, machinery, implements, and shop tools, including identification numbers, maintenance records, and operating status.

  • Ensure the machine shop and equipment storage areas are maintained in excellent condition and in compliance with OSHA and EHS standards.

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and repairs for all agricultural equipment, including off-site assets such as pumps, motors and trailers.

  • Source and coordinate external mechanical service providers when specialized repairs or maintenance are required.

  • Coordinate and plan with external suppliers the transport of agricultural equipment following the best safety practices and ensuring that the equipment is delivered on time.

  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, technicians, operators, and colleagues.

  • Request, coordinate and track required purchase orders for replacement and maintenance parts. Follow corporate requirements to process and submit invoices with the required information for payments.

  • Assess equipment and operational needs and submit recommendations for improvements or capital investments to Agronomy leadership.

  • Keep a record and maintain a digital track for all the reparations, activities and purchases in the scope of the machine shop.

  • Perform periodically reports for the Agronomy Lead about the activities in the machine shop.

  • Perform risk assessments for machine shop activities and coordinate additional safety evaluations when required.

  • Partner with the Agronomy Lead to evaluate and support emerging agricultural technologies.

  • Work in the development and update of Standard Operational Procedures for the Machine Shop activities.

  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency, safety, reliability, and operational processes.

  • Deliver training on the safe operation of tractors, machinery and shop equipment.

  • Support employee development through regular feedback and recognition.

  • Promote and model the highest standards of ethical conduct and professional behavior.

  • Support initiatives that foster employee engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Foster a culture where diversity is valued and respectful workplace behaviors are consistently demonstrated.

Qualifications – What You’ll Bring:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Agricultural Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Agronomy, Mechanical Technology, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3- 5 years of experience working with maintenance and repairing agricultural machinery and field equipment. Experience in agricultural research, seed production, or commercial farming operations

  • Supervisory or team leadership experience

  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office programs, Power Apps, and other local software. Skills using technology and managing electronic devices and computer equipment.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish is required

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and equipment inventory management

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and creativity skills, especially attention to details.

  • Understanding of OSHA and EHS requirements for workplace safety practices.

  • Experience using computerized maintenance planning or work management systems.

  • Able to work, weekends and holidays when is required by the workload

  • Valid PR driver's license, category 4 preferred.

  • Willing and able to occasionally lift, push, or carry up to 20-50 lbs. of weight.

  • Must be capable of working in varied ergonomic and in extreme environmental conditions for extended periods of time.
