Full job description

Employment Type: Full timeShift: Day Shift Description: Medical Assistants work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a clinic or practice environment. MAs are expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. Be the person that makes the difference every day in our patients’ lives.

What you will do:

  • Room set up and patient preparation
  • Taking vitals (Manual & Electronic)
  • Perform EKG
  • Drawing blood and giving injections and immunizations.
  • Performing office tests (Point of Care Testing)
  • Pharmacology
  • Administrative duties
  • May perform or assisting with in-office procedures/treatments

Education Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.

Credentials/Licensure Minimum: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:

  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
  • National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
  • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
  • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

For those MA III’s working in Workplace Health, the following additional certifications are required:

  • DOT Drug Screen Collector, and
  • DOT Breath Alcohol Technician
  • Competent to perform FIT testing for employees who require respiratory protective equipment by employers.

Preferred: N/A

Related Experience Minimum: 3+ years experience working as a credentialed MA with skills/education required from MA-II role. Preferred: N/A

Position would primarily be supporting urgent care and would include every other weekend and a rotation of holidays.
