Job Description

Reports To: CEO

Position Summary

The Associate Director, Supply Chain Management is responsible for leading and optimizing AdvaGen, Validus’s (North America) end-to-end supply chain operations to ensure industry-leading customer service, inventory performance, cost competitiveness, and business continuity.

This leadership role serves as the primary link between Commercial, Finance, Customer Service, Warehousing, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Rubicon Supply Chain teams. The incumbent will drive supply chain strategy, demand planning, inventory optimization, network performance, and stakeholder alignment while supporting AdvaGen’ s/Validus’s growth objectives and maintaining best-in-class OTIF performance.

The role requires strong cross-functional leadership, business acumen, and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders across multiple geographies.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead and own the end-to-end AdvaGen supply chain strategy to support commercial growth, launch readiness, and customer service objectives.

  • Develop and execute supply chain initiatives that improve service, working capital, inventory productivity, and operating costs.

  • Establish supply chain governance processes, KPIs, and performance management frameworks.

  • Build organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, coaching, and performance management.

  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the supply chain organization.

Demand Planning & S&OP

  • Lead the demand forecasting and planning process for existing business, future launches, and commercial opportunities.

  • Drive forecast accuracy improvement through collaboration with Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Operations teams.

  • Own and facilitate the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure alignment between demand, supply, inventory, and financial objectives.

  • Evaluate supply risks and develop mitigation plans to support uninterrupted product availability.

Customer Service & OTIF Excellence

  • Deliver best-in-class OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance across the AdvaGen business.

  • Develop allocation, prioritization, and contingency plans during supply-constrained situations.

  • Monitor customer service metrics and implement corrective actions to improve performance.

  • Ensure fulfilment operations support strategic customer and wholesaler requirements.

Inventory & Working Capital Management

  • Own inventory strategy across the supply network, including inventory positioning across 3Pls, replenishment, and lifecycle management.

  • Drive inventory optimization while maintaining customer service goals.

  • Manage inventory health by minimizing slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory.

  • Partner with Commercial and Finance teams to develop inventory liquidation strategies where required.

  • Monitor and improve Days on Hand (DOH) and working capital efficiency.

Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution

  • Provide strategic oversight of 3PL warehousing, transportation, customs clearance, and distribution operations.

  • Drive continuous optimization of logistics and distribution costs without compromising service levels.

  • Establish performance metrics and governance mechanisms for 3PL and logistics partners.

  • Lead initiatives related to distribution network optimization and warehousing strategy.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as the primary supply chain business partner to Commercial, Finance, Customer Service, Quality, Regulatory, and Global Supply Chain teams.

  • Lead executive-level communication regarding supply risks, inventory challenges, mitigation plans, and business continuity measures.

  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, including wholesalers, logistics providers, freight partners, and service providers.

  • Drive accountability across all stakeholders to achieve supply chain and business objectives.

Business Planning & Growth Support

  • Support new product launches, business development opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives.

  • Evaluate supply chain readiness for new product introductions and commercial expansion.

  • Develop capacity and contingency plans to support long-term business growth.

  • Identify and execute supply chain transformation and digitization opportunities.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop, maintain, and present Supply Chain performance dashboards to senior leadership.

  • Monitor key metrics related to service, inventory, forecast accuracy, logistics costs, and working capital.

  • Provide regular business reviews, risk assessments, and improvement recommendations.

People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Supply Chain team.

  • Provide leadership to direct reports and cross-functional teams.

  • Drive goal setting, performance reviews, capability development, and succession planning.

  • Foster collaboration between U.S. and global supply chain teams.

Skills & Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, Business Administration, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline.

Experience

  • 5-8+ years of progressive supply chain experience within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder environments.

  • Experience in demand planning, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, and customer service operations.

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical distribution networks, wholesalers, 3PLs, and regulatory requirements.
