Job Title: Construction Project ManagerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to support the Energy Delivery organization across the Charlotte region. The successful candidate will manage project schedules, coordinate with various stakeholders, and oversee construction progress while providing timely updates to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Attend project meetings and coordinate with utilities, design teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Track schedules, milestones, action items, and risks.

  • Review project documentation and conduct site visits to monitor construction progress.

  • Provide leadership with status updates and onsite support during active construction.

  • Coordinate projects by making detailed plans to achieve goals and directing the integration of technical activities.

  • Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients.

  • Recruit, assign, direct, and evaluate employees' work, ensuring staff competence.

  • Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess project feasibility.

  • Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.

  • Review, recommend, or approve contracts and cost estimates.

  • Direct, review, and approve product designs and changes.

  • Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

  • Proficiency in computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.

  • PMI or PMP certification preferred.

  • 7+ years of project management experience.

  • 5+ years of construction management or field execution experience.

  • Experience with electrical infrastructure, utility projects, substations, transmission, and distribution.

  • Experience supporting mission-critical facilities, data centers, energy infrastructure, industrial construction, or utility programs.

Work Environment

This position is located in Charlotte, NC, with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week. The role requires the use of specific equipment, including a monitor, keyboard, headset, mouse, safety helmet, reflective vest, gloves, safety glasses or visor, and composite toe work boots. The work environment involves both strategic project management and hands-on field execution responsibilities, providing opportunities to work with industry-leading utilities, contractors, and engineering partners.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
