Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a UAV Systems Specialist in our Prototype Integration Group located in San Diego, CA (Poway, CA).

UAV Systems Specialist are specialist in developing and integrating payloads onto unmanned platforms. Under general supervision with limited review, this position will report to Prototype Integration Manager. The UAV Systems Specialist will be responsible for the research, coordination and management of projects and tasks related to the development and integration of electronic payloads for multiple platforms.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes electrical and RF theory to troubleshoot basic circuits and electronic systems.

  • Develops acceptance test procedures for electronic systems and subassemblies being tested current programs and prototyping development tasks.

  • Sets up moderately complex experiments and/or tests; checks out and calibrates equipment prior to experimentation and data acquisition; conducts tests and experiments following operating procedures.

  • Reviews product systems, functional specifications, and operations, and establishes safety requirements for assigned systems.

  • Investigates and analyzes project requirements and operating problems and develops recommended solutions to meet company governmental safety and performance standards.

  • Identifies operation or equipment problems and reports deficiencies.

  • Maintains and repairs equipment using basic hand and specialized tools.

  • Researches, analyzes, develops, and documents detailed requirements or operator, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures, checklists, technical specifications, alert bulletins, training materials and other procedures and reports.

  • Analyzes and recommends safety criteria in system procedures and design to control or eliminate hazards.

  • Investigates and resolves problem areas and participates with engineering, operations and maintenance personnel to document technical solutions.

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

  • Other duties as assigned or as required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree and two or more years of professional engineering/military technical and/or documentation experience.

  • Must have formal training in one or more safety disciplines.

  • Must demonstrate a comprehensive technical understanding of military or commercial systems and have knowledge of the engineering development process.

  • Must possess:

  • The ability to develop, acquire, interpret and communicate technical data.

  • The ability to understand new concepts and apply them in an evolving environment.

  • Strong organization skills.

  • The ability to identify issues and develop solutions to technical problems.

  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately analyze, document, present and report recommendations.

  • Strong knowledge of computer operations and applications.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Must have flexibility to work any shift, if necessary and travel as required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
