Full job description

We are seeking a Principal DevOps Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise DevOps, cloud architecture, containerization, software delivery, and automation. This role will establish architecture and engineering best practices, guide complex technology initiatives, and partner with development, cloud, security, and operational teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions supporting enterprise and government programs.

**This is a fully remote position. Requires 15% travel. **

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement DevOps and Containerization best practices, software release pipelines, and automation to be leveraged across the enterprise.

  • Serve as a thought leader in assessing business needs and current industry best practices and solutions, and matching them to further business goals.

  • Serve as a technical lead for training and instilling best practices in the DevOps Engineering team, promoting team competencies and excellence.

  • Define, develop, and implement the configuration management system which supports the enterprise software development life cycle (SDLC).

  • Manage source code within the Version Control System (i.e. branching, sync, merge); compile, assemble, and package software from source code, and mentor less senior team members in this discipline.

  • Work with Cloud Services to perform and validate installations/upgrades/deployments/containers, enabling team self sufficiency in every case.

  • Develop automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning activities.

  • Research and resolve complex technical problems associated with the version control and continuous integration systems.

  • Work with developers, testers, and IT operational staff to administer source code management toolsets, automate builds and deployments, configure continuous integration environments, and contribute to all facets of the software build and release cycles.

  • Oversee large, technically complex projects and support leadership in assuring service delivery excellence.

'- 15+ years enterprise IT experience with solution architecture, cloud platforms, software development, integration, delivery leadership, and government program experience preferred.

  • Full-stack development experience- Strong coding skills with .NET 4 and .NET 8+- Strong experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Vue.js- Strong experience with SQL Server- Experience with data modeling- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and performance tuning- Strong knowledge of software architecture and software design patterns- Strong experience with OIDC, SAML 2.0, and JWT authentication- Strong experience designing secure software solutions- Familiarity with AWS services- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a plus
