DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position centers on skilled electrical work involving medium voltage and related systems throughout Warren State Hospital. The role supports safe power distribution and reliable operation of essential electrical equipment. As a Medium Voltage Electrician, you will perform the following duties:

  • Medium Voltage Work: Install, maintain, and repair switch gear, transformers, and distribution panels

  • Generator Maintenance: Conduct weekly preventative maintenance and test runs on emergency standby generators

  • System Monitoring: Check substation instruments, monitor switchboards, and interpret readings to maintain performance

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Use blueprints, diagrams, tools, and testing instruments to locate and solve electrical problems

  • Safety Compliance: Follow NFPA 70E rules and facility policies when working on electrical systems

  • Equipment Operation: Operate lift trucks or bucket trucks to perform electrical repairs on outdoor lighting

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Travel and overtime may be required as needed.

  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position .

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Five years of journey-level experience in the electrical trade ;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training .

Condition of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
