Job Description

The HSE Technician supports health, safety, and environmental programs at a launch and aerospace operations site. This role assists with safety inspections, hazardous waste management, environmental compliance activities, PPE management, spill prevention initiatives, emergency preparedness, and compliance documentation. The position is a combination of field and office work and requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in industrial environments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Support site safety, environmental, and compliance programs
  • Conduct hazardous waste inspections and maintain compliance records
  • Perform inspections of hazardous waste storage and accumulation areas
  • Track PPE inventory and inspection requirements
  • Support environmental compliance documentation and reporting
  • Conduct facility safety inspections and corrective action follow-up
  • Maintain SDS records and hazardous chemical inventories
  • Assist with spill prevention, emergency preparedness, and response activities
  • Support contractor safety oversight and field observations
  • Coordinate safety training records and communications
  • Inspect and maintain tracking for safety equipment, including respirators, eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, and fall protection equipment
  • Assist with incident reporting and investigations
  • Support additional HSE initiatives as directed

Skills and Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 1+ year of experience in one of the following: o Health & Safety (HSE/EHS) o Environmental compliance o Hazardous waste operations o Industrial, manufacturing, construction, or aerospace environments

  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, hazardous waste, and industrial safety regulations

  • Experience conducting inspections and maintaining compliance documentation

  • Ability to work in outdoor operational environments

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

  • HAZWOPER 24- or 40-hour certification

  • Experience managing hazardous waste and Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAAs)

  • Environmental compliance program experience

  • SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control & Countermeasure) experience

  • Forklift experience

  • Aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, or construction experience

  • Experience inspecting PPE, fall protection equipment, or rigging equipment
